Three Shortlisted for Young Sports Star Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The trio have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The finalists were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.
The show will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"To be named a finalist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
