LeBron James to Miss Start of NBA Season because of Sciatic Issues.

LeBron James on the court

LeBron James began his NBA path with the Cleveland team in the year 2003.

The Lakers superstar will be absent for up to four weeks and is set to miss the start of the league campaign due to sciatic nerve pain, LA Lakers have confirmed.

James, 40, inked a fresh deal with the Los Angeles Lakers in June of this year and will become the initial competitor to participate across 23 separate NBA seasons.

Sciatic pain refers to discomfort in the nerve that travels down the back and through the leg.

James was absent in pre-season and did not play in the games against the Warriors and the Phoenix Suns earlier this month because of the glute nerve irritation.

The American will likely miss for each of the five of the Lakers' games in October, featuring the first game against the Warriors.

LeBron James, the highest points scorer in history, has always been present for the opening of the campaign in his two-decade-plus career.

The number of over 1,500 matches participated in is merely 50 less than overtaking former Boston Celtics star Parish's all-time record.

The title winner featured in 70 out of the team's 82 games last season and played on 71 matches in the previous year.

Last season, James averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists per game and 7.8 rebounds per game per game and came in sixth in the Most Valuable Player vote.

The Lakers reached the playoffs in the 2024-25 season but lost in five games against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the initial stage.
