Edwards and Gary O'Neil Included in Wolverhampton Wanderers Head Coach Candidates

Rob Edwards along with Gary O'Neil represent the early names in the frame to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolves.

The previous coach was dismissed on Sunday after the squad's 10-match without a victory beginning to the top-flight campaign.

And Edwards and O'Neil - each of whom have previous associations to the club - are part of the options to be considered by the club ownership.

Edwards is currently at Middlesbrough, which would create a possible hurdle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.

However the former Luton head coach - who made more than 100 of games for Wolves during his playing career - is said to be a leading candidate for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the club board as they begin the search of appointing a fresh head coach.

Gary O'Neil is additionally emerging as a unexpected contender, although he would be a surprising choice considering he was sacked by the club in December last year.

The former West Ham midfielder is out of work which means the club would not be required to provide any buyout fee.
